The New Economic Reality

  Two Longstanding neutral nations are considering joining NATO. They for some reason feel swayed by the Russian invasion of the Ukraine   because of the alleged brutalities that have occurred in that nation . These   brutalities have according to several sources have been either staged or have been negatively reported by the US and Western Press. There is a slant in favor of the Ukraine that is obviously pro NATO. But that is not the real reason for this article. There is an element of absent-mindedness about what fascism is that escapes the minds of millions in Europe. There is the idea of antisemitism as well as racism being   quietly ignored in the both the United States and Europe . It is if the concern over George Floyd is being forgotten as pictures of the banner of NATO and the Red and Black swastika being carried side by side. Robert B. Ford, the CEO of Abbott Laboratories apologized for the Elecare, Similac shortage . He stated an apology ,in an op-ed letter to the Washington Post .  In his letter he stated “We’re sorry to every family we’ve let down since our voluntary recall exacerbated our nation’s baby formula shortage. He further stated, “we will supply more baby formula than before.” The story of this sad tale  begins with the death of an infant in Houston Texas, Cynthia Salinas ,son Azeal, died from a bacterial infection. The medical profession discovered his death was due to  the ingestion of Elecare , a formula  manufactured by Abbott Laboratories under the name of Elecare, the same company that produces the popular brand Similac. Azeal was born July 14, 2021. His brain had been aggressively attacked by bacteria. The name of the bacteria that killed the infant is Cronobacter sakazekii .   Trees represent the strength of this world. Scientists say that we breathe because of them. They according to modern science exhale oxygen while we humans exhale carbon dioxide. The trees and humanity therefore keep each other alive. Perhaps that is our fate. Not only on this planet but wherever we travel throughout the universe. Humanity needs plants for food housing clothing and shelter. The cotton ball is known as well as the corncob. The lumber from the oak tree is as well accepted as the seeds of the peanut and the beans of the soybean. We need clothing. We need the cotton and the flax seed. While leather does not come from trees . It is derived from and animal that consumes a large amount of grass.   We have been searching for newer synthetic plants.   Today, November 5, 2020, marks the second day of counting the votes of the 2020 Presidential Election. This day and perhaps the weekend marks the beginning of a new day. Nevada claims it will finalize its tally over the weekend. Georgia, despite the loss of a member of its Election Commission staff to Covid-19, is rapidly adding up its votes as the results of Fulton, its largest populated county is released. The results show a razor thin lead of Mr. Trump, the incumbent, over Mr. Biden of less than 15,000 votes.  If Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada are declared for the Biden /Harris ticket this should give him a victory in the race for the White House. Justice is a concept that reaches into every community and every culture. Injustice is viewed as a crime . Tyranny is a cruel oppression the reeks of immoral stench upon the human psychic . For the past few weeks, this nation has witnessed the cruelest oppression ever meted out on a group of people ;whose only crime is the color of their skin . It does not matter whether male or female. It occurs in the U.S., east, west, north, or south. It has its roots in slavery. It has grown with the United States since its inception and has practically strangled its noble ideals with the tentacles of racism and greed. This greed for human flesh and capital had to be justified. Exploitation born of this racism was something good for its recipients. It was justified   as something good by the will of providence.           Probably the most interesting and aggressive area of the labor movement is the least known. On August 10-12 the National Writers Union, Local 1981, UAW, AFL- CIO held its Delegates Assembly; the local’s legislative body. It meets every three years. The Newspaper Guild, and The Writer’s Guild, represent in house salaried writers. AFGE and AFSCME fight for government salaried writers. The NWU takes on fighting for the interest and the needs of the freelance writer. These writers publish both fiction and nonfiction in magazines; books and the internet. These are usually creative works they have completed on their own. Writers are workers who are hired through agencies and publishers to create literary works. As I arrived at the Pennsylvania Convention Center,a prominent modern building located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia, I noticed two individuals who greeted me at the convention door. Wali Smith, who has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Chapter of the NAACP and active member of its ACT-SO committee ,for several years, and whose wife Kathleen Coleman was its chair, was standing at the door greeting newcomers as they entered.
